Qualifications

• Experience as a Teacher Aide or similar role supporting ākonga with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills to connect with ākonga, kaiako, and whānau.
• Patience, flexibility and a genuine passion for supporting students to succeed.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Confidence using a computer and online learning tools.
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and supporting diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Support ākonga with learning as outlined in their IEP.
• Assist Kaiako in delivering lessons and adapt materials to needs.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to help ākonga reach goals.
• Support online learning and use assistive technology where required.
• Encourage engagement by fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Attend team meetings and professional development; help with records.
