Job summary

Department of Corrections NZ is seeking an Education Tutor to deliver end-to-end rehabilitation and reintegration education for men in custody, focusing on literacy, numeracy and pathways to employment. You will support learners to engage in pathway assessments using secure online education platforms and contribute to a range of education programmes in a custodial setting.

You will work closely with stakeholders to promote successful rehabilitation, learning progression and NZ qualifications

Qualifications

• Experience assessing and supporting learners who have not previously found education success.
• Familiarity with e-learning environments and helping learners use them.
• Ability to assess learning needs and develop individual learning pathway plans.
• Experience in Kaupapa Māori or Pasifika educational settings.
• Tertiary qualification or Adult Education qualification.
• Experience with offenders in a prison education context (preferred).
• Competency with TEC Literacy and Numeracy tools and NZQA frameworks.
