Job summary

Madison Recruitment is partnering with a well-established New Zealand retail and distribution business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for an immediate contract assignment of approximately 2-3 months.

The role supports the CFO across financial reporting, compliance, cash management, forecasting, and business performance analysis. The successful contractor will hit the ground running and work autonomously in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Proven Financial Accountant experience in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong month-end, reporting and compliance expertise.
• Excellent Excel skills and exposure to BI reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of New Zealand tax and accounting standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Month-end and year-end reporting
• Balance sheet, bank, stock and sales reconciliations
• GST, FBT and other tax compliance obligations
• Cashflow forecasting and treasury support
• Financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Payroll reporting and support
• Management of third-party finance providers and key stakeholders
• Process improvement and finance systems enhancements
• Supporting business performance reporting and decision making
