Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital ICU in Napier is offering a fixed-term, full-time Transition Year (TY) post for a CICM trainee, bridging senior registrar and consultant levels with graded responsibility and growing clinical autonomy. The ICU is a Level 2 unit caring for adults and children, with facilities for non-invasive and mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and complex monitoring.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be registered or eligible for vocational registration, with the New Zealand Medical Council as an Intensive Care Physician or general registration with suitable qualifications.
• An appropriate medical degree recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Current registration (general or provisional vocational scope) with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Enrolled and in good standing as a trainee of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM), having satisfactorily completed the required clinical training time and assessments for the core intensive care medicine, anaesthesia and medicine years.

Responsabilités

• Develop clinical autonomy with graded responsibility during the TY.
• Engage in research, quality improvement and administrative activities.
• Receive mentoring, coaching and feedback from senior medical staff.
