Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Hawke's Bay ICU is seeking an Intensive Care Consultant to provide expert medical care in the level 2 ICU. The role offers a balance of challenging clinical work with lifestyle benefits in Hawke's Bay.

The successful applicant will possess NZ vocational registration, with FICM or equivalent, and show strong leadership and teaching capabilities within a multidisciplinary ICU team.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council as an Intensive Care Physician.
• Must possess either FICM or an equivalent qualification leading to specialist recognition.
• Experience in a wide range of Intensive Care Medicine procedures.
• Proven experience supervising and teaching junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level intensive care to adult and pediatric patients.
• Lead and support ICU team including teaching and supervision of junior staff.
• Engage in teaching, leadership, research, and quality improvement activities.
