Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Tauranga (Bay of Plenty) is seeking an ICT Technician with hands-on telecoms and network experience. You will design and install network infrastructure, perform fibre optic installations, and test connectivity. The role requires two years of relevant experience and strong customer service skills.

The position is full-time with Monday‑Sunday shift availability and weekend work as needed. Training and ongoing development are provided in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of relevant work experience in ICT/telecommunications.
• Solid knowledge of phone hardware, software and operating systems.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting and configurations.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain network infrastructure including switching and fibre optic systems.
• Conduct outside plant work with fibre optic installations and terminations.
• Perform network configuration, testing, and optimization for reliable operation.
• Hands-on experience with OTDR, splice machine, source meter, and power meter for connectivity testing.
• Operate and maintain RF testers and analyzers to ensure high-quality network performance.
• Provide operations and maintenance support for telecommunications systems.
• Work on configuring and troubleshooting Class 5 soft switch telecom systems.
• Test and analyze VoIP protocols for secure communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement telecommunications solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
