Job summary

Wellington Free Ambulance is seeking an ICT Systems Administrator to keep our technology environment running smoothly and securely. You will support end users, manage hybrid cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, and ensure ICT services are resilient to agreed standards.

You will work with the ICT Operations Manager and CIO to design, support and maintain our technical architecture and applications, enabling our digital transformation journey.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft enterprise technologies.
• Scripting and automation experience, especially PowerShell.
• Strong networking and security fundamentals (switching, firewalls, VPNs, Wi‑Fi).

Job description

As the ICT Systems Administrator, you will help keep WFA’s technology environment running smoothly and securely, supporting our people, systems, and digital transformation journey.

This role provides hands‑on technical support to end users, manages hybrid cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, and ensures ICT services are resilient and fit for purpose. You will work closely with the ICT Operations Manager and Head of Digital & Data / CIO to ensure the organisation’s technical architecture and applications are designed, supported, and maintained to agreed standards.

Who we are looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

• 3–5 years of hands‑on IT support or Systems Administration experience, with a track record of solving complex technical issues
• Strong capability across Microsoft enterprise technologies
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, especially PowerShell
• Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals, covering switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WiFi technologies
• A relevant IT related tertiary qualification
