Job summary

Auslink Consulting Group, Auckland, is seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead planning, coordination and delivery of its information and communications technology projects across warehousing, integration and automation initiatives.

You will report to the Managing Director and collaborate with operations, management, customers and external providers to scope, plan and execute projects from initiation to post-implementation review, ensuring value and benefits realization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems or related discipline; or substantial professional experience in ICT project planning and delivery.
  • Professional project-management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile) would be advantageous but are not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project charters, business cases, implementation plans, schedules and delivery frameworks.
  • Lead ICT projects from initiation through planning, implementation, deployment and post-project review.
  • Analyse operational and business requirements with management, warehouse, freight forwarding, sales, inventory and compliance teams.
  • Translate business requirements into defined project objectives, functional requirements, deliverables and implementation plans.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, dependencies, risks, issues and change requests.
  • Prioritise project activities and coordinate tasks across internal stakeholders and external technology providers.
  • Lead projects involving Warehouse Management System enhancements, systems integration, workflow automation, reporting platforms and related business systems.
  • Coordinate software vendors, consultants, implementation partners and other external service providers.
  • Establish project governance, reporting and escalation processes.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress, budget, risk and delivery reports to the Managing Director.
  • Coordinate system configuration, data migration, testing, User Acceptance Testing and deployment activities.
  • Manage business-readiness, staff training and change-management activities associated with new or enhanced systems.
  • Ensure project documentation, technical requirements, decisions and implementation records are properly maintained.
  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables and performance against approved timeframes and budgets.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and assess whether completed projects have achieved intended benefits.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, systems integration, data visibility and customer service through technology.

Auslink Consulting Group – Auckland, North Island

Auslink Limited is a New Zealand-owned logistics and supply chain solutions provider delivering international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing, inventory management, e-commerce fulfilment and nationwide distribution services.

Auslink operates technology-enabled logistics and warehousing services, including Warehouse Management System operations, real-time inventory management, Application Programming Interface and Electronic Data Interchange connectivity, customised workflows, order fulfilment and operational reporting. Its operations extend across Auckland and Christchurch.

As the business continues to grow, Auslink is investing in the further integration, automation and improvement of the systems supporting its logistics, warehousing and customer service operations.

The Opportunity

Auslink is seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of its information and communications technology projects.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the ICT Project Manager will work with operational teams, management, customers and external technology providers to deliver projects involving:

  • Warehouse Management System optimisation and enhancement;
  • customer, carrier and third-party system integrations;
  • Application Programming Interface and Electronic Data Interchange connectivity;
  • workflow and business-process automation;
  • inventory, order-management and operational reporting systems; and
  • other technology initiatives supporting Auslink's logistics and supply chain operations.

This is a permanent role responsible for managing ICT projects throughout their complete lifecycle, from initial requirements and project planning through implementation, deployment and post-implementation review.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

The ICT Project Manager will:

  • Develop project charters, business cases, implementation plans, schedules and delivery frameworks.
  • Lead ICT projects from initiation through planning, implementation, deployment and post-project review.
  • Analyse operational and business requirements in consultation with management, warehouse, freight forwarding, sales, inventory and compliance teams.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems or a closely related discipline; or
  • substantial relevant professional experience in the planning and delivery of ICT projects.

Professional project-management qualifications, including Project Management Professional, PRINCE2 or Agile qualifications, would be advantageous but are not essential.

Experience and Capabilities

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in:

  • managing ICT projects from initiation through implementation and review;
  • project planning, scheduling, budgeting, governance and risk management;
  • business analysis, requirements gathering and stakeholder consultation;
  • coordinating cross-functional teams and external technology providers;
  • delivering system implementation, integration, automation or digital-improvement projects;
  • managing testing, User Acceptance Testing, deployment and change-management activities;
  • preparing clear project documentation and management reports; and
  • managing competing priorities and multiple project workstreams.

Experience involving any of the following would be advantageous:

  • logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding, supply chain, manufacturing or e-commerce operations;
  • Warehouse Management Systems;
  • Enterprise Resource Planning platforms;
  • Electronic Data Interchange;
  • operational reporting and data-integration platforms; or
  • workflow and business-process automation.
