Job summary

Vessev is hiring an intern to join our manufacturing team in Auckland, New Zealand. This full-time fixed-term role runs for 400 hours and pays $30 per hour, offering hands-on experience in composite manufacturing, process development and hydrofoil component production.

You will work alongside engineers and technicians to learn and improve production workflows, tooling, testing, and data analysis, gaining exposure to prototype builds and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering required.
• Hands-on workshop or fabrication project experience preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings, specs and work instructions.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, ideally Onshape.

Responsibilities

• Assist with manufacturing process development and production workflows to improve efficiency, quality and repeatability.
• Assist production by building, assembling and refining components with the manufacturing team.
• Support testing and validation of manufacturing methods and outcomes.
• Collect production metrics, quality results and process data to identify trends and improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
• Support prototype and pre-production builds to transition designs into scalable manufacturing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to solve problems and implement improvements.
