Job summary

Mercury NZ Limited is seeking a hands-on professional to support its hydro generation sites in the Waikato region near Taupo. The role involves maintaining, operating and improving assets while upholding strong health and safety practices; a permanent position with standard business hours.

You'll gain growth opportunities, exposure to multiple hydro sites, and potential progression as you train toward Level 4 mechanical/electrical qualifications.

Qualifications

• Role involves physical tasks and manual work.
• Willingness to train to Level 4 mechanical/electrical qualifications.
• Class 1 drivers licence required; Class 2/4 an advantage.
• Confined Space and Working at Heights training beneficial.
• Maintenance of hydro generation assets experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate and improve Mercury's Hydro generation assets.
• Ensure facilities are kept safely and in line with policies.
• Support electrical and mechanical maintainers and routine tasks.
• Assist with confined spaces work and at heights when required.
• Contribute to site health & safety practices and training.
