We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Hydraulic Technician to join our team. This is a varied role involving hydraulic cylinder repairs, hydraulic system troubleshooting, hose assembly, equipment servicing, maintenance, customer support, showroom assistance, and occasional site visits. You will work on a range of equipment including hydraulic systems, concrete pumps, bin trucks, waste handling equipment, industrial machinery, and related hydraulic components. No two days are the same, and the role offers a mix of workshop activities, customer interaction, showroom support, and field service work.
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders.
Repair and service hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and power units.
Troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical faults.
Measure, inspect, and replace seals, rods, pistons, bearings, and other hydraulic components.
Manufacture, assemble, crimp, test, and install hydraulic hoses and fittings.
Carry out hydraulic hose replacements and emergency hose repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, and equipment inspections.
Service and support concrete pumps, bin trucks, waste equipment, hydraulic power units, and industrial machinery.
Assist customers with technical enquiries and product selection.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and showroom.
Experience with hydraulic repairs and maintenance.
Experience in hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuilding.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with hydraulic hose assembly and installation.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must have current New Zealand working rights.
Be physically fit and capable of hands-on work.
