Placements24 is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement operations within a manufacturing setting. You will manage a sizable budget, direct a team of buyers, and forge strong relationships with global and local suppliers.

Based in Queenstown, this hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on cost reduction, supply chain optimization, and risk management across materials, components, and indirect spend.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in procurement, with at least 3 years in management.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Manufacturing procurement experience, automotive preferred.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Proficiency with ERP (SAP/Oracle) and e-procurement tools.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement professionals to achieve departmental goals.
• Oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and management of contracts for raw materials, components, and indirect spend.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, volume consolidation, and supplier performance improvement.
• Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers globally and locally.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify supply risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
• Implement and manage robust procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality departments to ensure material specifications and delivery requirements are met.
• Manage the procurement budget effectively and ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Oversee the implementation and utilisation of procurement technologies and systems for optimal efficiency.
