Job summary

Partners Life in Auckland seeks a hands-on Senior Manager Cyber Security Operations to lead a specialist team across security operations, IAM and data protection. You will oversee external security software and partner services, ensuring secure configurations from monitoring to recovery and providing clear guidance to senior stakeholders.

You will drive security controls, vulnerability management and incident response, partnering with technology and risk teams to translate strategy into BAU

Qualifications

• Experience leading cyber security operations, including managed security services and critical suppliers.
• Hands-on knowledge of cyber defence tools such as CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Tenable and MS Sentinel.
• Proven experience in Cloud security, preferably MS Azure and/or AWS, in an environment handling sensitive personal information.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cyber security operations capability with clear priorities, ownership and delivery expectations.
• Oversee threat informed monitoring, detection and response across internal teams and managed security service partners.
• Oversee externally delivered security software solutions and engineering partners, ensuring secure-by-design practices across cloud, platforms and infrastructure.
• Strengthen vulnerability and exposure management, asset visibility, secure configuration and technical assurance.
• Provide leadership across identity, privileged access and data protection capabilities.
• Support cyber incident coordination, investigation, containment, recovery and lessons learned.
• Ensure new services have ownership, monitoring, recovery, documentation and support before BAU.
• Develop team capability and relationships with senior technology, business and risk stakeholders.
