Job summary

Align Limited is a fast-growing planning consultancy delivering infrastructure, development and environmental projects across New Zealand. An Intermediate Planner will work with experienced professionals to provide planning advice and deliver high-quality outcomes for public, private and commercial clients.

You will prepare statutory planning documentation, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to diverse projects, with a collaborative team culture and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• NZPI-accredited planning degree or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 4 years planning experience.
• Experience preparing or contributing to resource consent applications and assessments.
• Knowledge of NZ planning legislation and statutory processes.
• Strong written communication and technical report writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Current full NZ driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning advice and prepare statutory planning documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders and contribute to delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Prepare technical reports, submissions and planning assessments.
• Support plan changes, policy and strategic planning projects.
• Attend project meetings, workshops and site visits.
• Coordinate specialist inputs and project delivery.
