Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Database Engineer (DBA) to join the Application Databases team. You will manage 15,000+ databases nationwide in a 24x7 environment, ensuring security, reliability and performance across hospital, corporate, and consumer health systems.

The role is hybrid, full-time and permanent, with collaboration across internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver scalable database services at scale.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Experience administering enterprise databases with SQL Server and Oracle.
• Familiar with cloud DB services (Azure/AWS) and on‑prem to cloud transitions.
• Strong knowledge of HA, security, and incident/change management processes.

Aufgaben

• Deploy, configure, and maintain application databases across national platforms.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security compliance.
• Troubleshoot database and system issues promptly.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Automate database tasks and optimize system performance.
• Contribute to database design and new solution implementations.
• Maintain operational procedures and ensure standards adherence.
• Collaborate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
