Job summary

Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) is seeking an Integration Developer to join the Customer360 Integration team in Auckland or Wellington. You will design, develop and enhance integration solutions using Java and Spring Boot within an agile environment.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure interfaces, contribute to platform improvements, and help drive adoption of modern technology across the bank. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing Java/Spring Boot services.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and security.
• Experience with secure integration concepts (auth methods, certs, API protection).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Outcomes- Design, develop, configure, and enhance Integrations solutions that deliver business outcomes while maintaining enterprise standards for quality, security, and performance.
• Technical Problem Solving- Investigate complex business and technical challenges, define solutions, and contribute to system design decisions that balance business and technical objectives.
• Delivery & Continuous Improvement- Work within agile delivery teams to build and release new features, improve existing capabilities, and drive ongoing platform optimisation.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing- Partner with business and technology stakeholders across the programme by contributing to technical discussions. Actively share knowledge with the wider engineering community and coach others.
• Production Support & Operational Excellence -Participate in platform support activities, helping diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and improve system reliability and resilience.
