Job summary

Martin Brower ANZ is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide operational and strategic guidance to our distribution centre leaders across NZ and Australia. You will partner with people leaders, influence change, and help with onboarding, performance reviews, and policy development.

Reporting to Regional HR Manager, the role offers flexibility for full-time or part-time work, access to development opportunities, and a focus on diversity, inclusion and sustainable practices within

Qualifications

  • Strong experience as an HR business partner in an operational/FMCG or logistics environment.
  • Solutions focused with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Employee/Industrial Relations knowledge and ability to provide guidance and support on ER matters.
  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Business or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership teams to influence change management, retention, engagement, talent and performance development.
  • Support leaders through onboarding, probationary reviews, performance reviews, training and development, and offboarding processes.
  • Plan and support cyclical HR processes (e.g., Employee Engagement surveys, Pulse surveys).
  • Provide advice on employment conditions, agreements and policies, ensuring a consistent approach across the business.
  • Develop, update and draft internal policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance.
  • End-to-end case management and advisory support on employment-related matters (performance, discipline, grievances).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR practices and initiatives.

Job description

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner, eager to use your expertise and significant influencing skills to support our people leaders with operational and strategic advice? In this role, you will bring your significant generalist skillset and partner with our Distribution Centre (DC) teams, providing constructive advice across the full employment life cycle as well as playing a key role in delivering our people initiatives and projects.

Reporting to the Regional HR Manager (based remotely) and as a valued member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of tasks supporting HR and the operations team within our distribution centres in New Zealand as well as support our centres and Head office in Australia.

We understand that flexibility is important. For the right candidate, this role can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Day to day you will:
  • Proactively partner with your leadership teams and use your effective and supportive communication to influence and support on change management, retention, engagement, talent and performance development
  • Support leaders through the core HR programs and processes including onboarding, probationary reviews, performance reviews, training and development, performance management and offboarding
  • Plan, communicate and support the cyclical HR processes (i.e. Employee Engagement Survey, Pulse and Ethics Surveys etc.)
  • Provide advice on employment conditions, Agreement and policies, ensuring a consistent approach across the business
  • Develop, update and draft internal policies and procedures for review to ensure compliance with current legislation
  • End to end case management – provide expert advice and act as a trusted advisor to both managers and employees on employment-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, and grievances
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of team practices involving initiating, developing and delivering HR solutions
