Job summary

Department of Internal Affairs seeks an experienced HR Systems Specialist to shape, support, and enhance its HRIS. You will lead system enhancements, manage organisational structures and delegations, and support reporting and analytics to inform decision-making.

The role requires strong HRIS expertise, data management skills, and the ability to collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Technology teams. Applicants must understand privacy and employment law as it applies to HR systems.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting, administering, and improving HR information systems.
• Strong understanding of HR processes, organisational structures, and workforce data management.
• Experience gathering requirements, delivering system enhancements, and managing user acceptance testing.
• Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and ensure high levels of data integrity and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach to resolving system and data issues.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience producing reports and insights to support decision-making.
• Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Knowledge of employment and privacy legislation, with an understanding of their application in HR systems and processes.
