Job summary

The Salvation Army in New Zealand seeks a dedicated HRIS & Payroll Reporting Specialist to deliver high-quality payroll reports and insights. You will support Payroll Advisors, drive process improvements, and participate in system testing and reporting initiatives with strong data analysis and confidentiality.

  • Experience with monthly payroll reporting and best practice payroll processes.

  • Advanced Excel skills and understanding of payroll legislation.

Our HRIS & Payroll team are charged with the timely and effective delivery of high quality payroll services along with support to the organisation by providing reporting and analysis.

With involvement in HR information and data, this role also offers the opportunity to support the work of the organisation through contributing to the development of reporting and process improvement.

This role suits someone who is committed to delivering a high level of customer service and for ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What will your responsibilities be:
  • HR & Payroll reporting and analysis. Responsible for providing high quality, accurate reporting and insights
  • Payroll reporting training and support for our Payroll Advisors
  • Process improvements
  • Testing of system enhancements and upgrades
  • Contribute to key initiatives and projects as required
  • Establish and maintain the organisation structure and position management
Our ideal candidate will:
  • To be successful, the appointee requires the following knowledge, experience, skills and personal attributes.
  • Demonstrated analytical experience with a strong interest in data and reporting
  • The ability to extract and analyse data and present in high quality, user friendly written reports
  • Able to problem solve and provide accurate and timely information
  • Assist in the delivery of monthly payroll-related reporting and bring a fresh perspective to ensure reporting is regular and meets the business requirements
  • Experience of computerised payroll processing (preferably Technology One) and strong knowledge of best practice payroll processes and operations
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Work autonomously and efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Work as part of a team in a collaborative and supportive way
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal relationships building strength and rapport in maintaining and sustaining those relationships
  • Shows high levels of integrity, understands the importance of confidentiality and how to manage sensitive information
  • Advanced level Excel
  • Understanding of relevant Employment and Payroll legislation

This role is permanent full time, hours worked will be 37.50 per week. However, open to considering part-time hours and/or job share.

The starting salary for this role will fall $95,000 and $105,000
