Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is recruiting a Community Support Worker in Mount Wellington to help people navigate housing pathways, access services, and achieve housing goals. This fixed-term full-time role supports individuals and whānau within a collaborative, culturally safe framework.

The position is until 22 October 2027, with opportunities to build partnerships across housing and social services. Prior experience and a NZ health and wellbeing certificate are valued.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or commitment to achieve within required timeframe.
• Minimum two years' relevant experience in housing, community, or social services.
• Knowledge of social housing systems and housing application processes.
• Sound understanding of WINZ processes and supports.
• Established networks across housing, community, and social service sectors.
• Must hold and maintain First Aid certification, including CPR, or be willing to complete this.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Support people and whānau to access housing options and sustain stable tenancies.
• Provide guidance on housing processes, applications, and available community resources.
• Liaise with housing providers, government agencies, and community organisations.
• Advocate for people accessing the service and support coordinated service access.
• Maintain accurate client records, reports, and documentation.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
