Job summary

Christchurch City Council's Recreation, Sport and Event Unit invites you to join Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park as a duty officer. The role focuses on keeping the park’s accommodation and amenities clean, safe and welcoming for guests.

You will work Thursday to Saturday from 9:30am to 3:30pm at Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park, 100 Heyders Road, Christchurch. Salary is $30.98 per hour and you’ll be joining a team dedicated to high service standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality.
• Reliable with a high standard of work ethic.
• Friendly, helpful personality able to relate to guests.
• Able to work unsupervised or in a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physically able to perform duties and hold a NZ Driver’s Licence.

Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park is a recreational destination stretching over 17 hectares, where guests can relax and unwind in a huge campground in the middle of a 70 hectare forested reserve, or take part in one of the many activities nearby. Situated just 20 minutes from the city and airport, we're also only 500m from the beach. Serving up great experiences and excellent services for our community, our people are nothing short of awe-inspiring in the level of service and assistance they provide for the people of Christchurch and beyond.

Duty Officers are an essential part of our team, you will help us provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to our guests at all times. This is a hands‑on role focusing on the accommodation and amenities in the park. The camps accommodation consists of 31 rooms, a 36-bed lodge and an 18-bed homestead.

• Cleaning of toilet/shower and kitchen blocks

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or the hospitality sector
• Reliable and demonstrate a high standard of work ethics.
• Friendly, helpful personality, get on well with other people, able to relate well to our guests.
• Be trusted to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
• Work cooperatively with others, follow instructions, and use initiative
• Problem-solving and communication skills
• Physically fit and capable of physical duties
• Full NZ Drivers Licence

Please note you will be required to work most public holidays, and the main holiday period (Christmas to Feb approx.), as this is our busiest period.
