Job summary

Summerset Richmond village seeks a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to help create a clean, homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and team members. This casual role offers shifts on an as-needed basis at our Richmond village.

You will be responsible for high-quality cleaning, laundry, labeling and maintenance of personal items, and support for infection control. Training is provided, and we welcome applicants with a background in healthcare or hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Pride in your work and care about the small details.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet.
• Genuine interest in aged care; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities.
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items.
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures.
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs.

Job Description

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Richmond village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary -full training provided)
