Whangaparāoa College in Auckland is embarking on an exciting 3-school model from 2027. We seek dedicated House Deans to deliver high‑quality pastoral care, guidance and belonging within a whānau‑like House across several year levels.

The ideal applicant will bring confidence, restorative practice expertise, de‑escalation skills, data analysis capabilities and a collaborative approach to planning and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in restorative practice and de-escalation strategies.
• Ability to analyse learner and school data to inform planning.
• Experience leading or contributing to pastoral care and community engagement.

Full-time, permanent teaching position. Dean appointment fixed-term for 2 years. Start date 25 January 2027.

We are embarking on an exciting new vision for a 3‑school model for our kura from the beginning of 2027.

Each of our 3 schools– Junior, Middle and Senior – will have a team of 4 House Deans, each supporting approximately 150 learners across multiple year levels. This role combines strong pastoral care and guidance with creating the positive experiences, connections and House spirit that help learners feel known, supported and proud to belong.

We are seeking passionate, learner‑centred leaders to guide and support learners through their college journey. Our House Deans play a key role in providing an environment in which our learners can thrive through academic and social guidance, a whānau‑like House culture, and learner leadership opportunities.

The ideal applicant will have confidence, experience, and expertise in restorative practice, de‑escalation strategies, data analysis, collaborative planning and community engagement.
