Job summary

Accor is seeking a capable hotel accountant to join our corporate finance team in Auckland. You will support the Hotel Accountant across a portfolio of hotels, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls and efficient accounting processes.

You bring tertiary accounting qualifications and 2–3 years hotel accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel, SUN Systems, Opera PMS, and Micros POS. You will work autonomously while collaborating across departments to drive best practices.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in hotel accounting across A/P, A/R and related processes.
• Experience in hotel/hospitality or multi-site environments is essential.
• Excellent reading/writing/speaking English required.
• Proficiency in Excel, SUN System, Micros POS and Opera PMS as part of daily work.

Responsibilities

• Process daily revenue files and balance flash reports from hotels, correcting and redistributing as needed.
• Check daily AR, guest ledger and advanced deposit balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate day-to-day AP workflows, review payment runs and resolve queries.
• Update bank reconciliations and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with GST calculations and returns for review and filing.
• Support ad hoc reporting, audits and portfolio analysis as required.
• Maintain audit-ready records and working papers.
• Provide cross-functional support across AP and AR to drive efficiency and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and internal controls within accounting operations.
