Job summary

Motion Asia Pacific is seeking a hands-on Hose Assembly Specialist based in Mount Maunganui. You’ll manufacture, inspect, test and certify hose assemblies, delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service in the workshop and on-site.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, with a full NZ driver's license and strong mechanical aptitude. You will work safely in a workshop environment, maintain equipment, and occasionally travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to lift 20 kg or more.
• Hold a full NZ driver’s license.
• Proven mechanical skills and aptitude with fabrication/engineering interest.
• Good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience in workshop/industrial environments with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture hose assemblies to required standards and customer specs.
• Inspect, test and certify assemblies per industry standards.
• Provide prompt, courteous service in workshop and on-site.
• Complete job sheets and timesheets accurately and on time.
• Maintain workshop tools and areas to a safe, clean standard.
• Travel or work away from the region as required.

About The Role

Join Motion as a Hose Assembly Specialist based in Mount Maunganui. You’ll manufacture, inspect, test and certify hose assemblies, delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service both in the workshop and on‑site. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you’ll help ensure workshop operations run safely, efficiently and on time. Ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety and pride in delivering high‑quality work.

What kind of work may be involved?

• Manufacture hose assemblies and related products to required standards and customer specifications
• Inspect, test and certify assemblies in accordance with industry standards
• Provide prompt, courteous and professional service to customers in the workshop and on‑site
• Complete job sheets, timesheets and other required documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain workshop equipment, tools and work areas to a safe, clean and reliable standard
• Participate in training and share knowledge with colleagues
• Travel or work away from the region from time to time when required

Ideal Skills & Experience

• Physically fit and able to lift small to large objects (minimum 20kgs).
• Full NZ driver’s license.
• Team player attitude.
• Core engineering, fabrication or mechanical skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in developing industry‑related qualifications
• Basic computer literacy
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
• Experience working safely in workshop or industrial environments
• A demonstrated commitment to health and safety procedures and compliance
• The flexibility to work at customer sites and occasionally away from home if required
