Job summary

Wilcox are seeking an experienced Machinery Operator (Tractor) to join our Horticulture team based in Matamata. You’ll operate a range of agricultural machinery for ground preparation, cultivation, planting and harvesting. We offer a values-driven team and competitive pay aligned with your skills and experience.

This role requires strong tractor skills and the ability to work safely with modern equipment across multiple sites in Matamata and occasional travel to Pukekohe and Ohakune as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in horticulture machinery operation, outdoor cropping and farming.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Operate a range of agricultural and horticulture machinery.

Responsibilities

• Undertake machinery operation as required i.e. ground prep/cultivation, planting, harvesting operations.
• Ensure high level of driving competency
• Day to day set up of planters and technical equipment
• Bin trailer driving and operation as required
• Assisting with the spraying team
• Assist with irrigation
