Scania New Zealand in Wellington is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technician to diagnose, rebuild and service Scania vehicles with an emphasis on quality workmanship and safety.

You will join a friendly team in a full-time permanent role, earning NZD 39–41 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 42.5 hours per week, plus opportunities for growth, development and ongoing training.

Qualificações

• Relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or at least 3 years proven Heavy Vehicle Technician experience.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and Scania values.
• Excellent English communication skills and a valid NZ driver license.

Responsabilidades

• Repair and maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and servicing of vehicles and equipment.
• Engine rebuilds and servicing as required.
• Promote health and safety in the workplace.

About the role

Location: Wellington, some project-based travel may be required to other workshop or training facilities across New Zealand
Type: Full-time permanent
Pay rate: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour
Minimum guaranteed hours: At least 42.5 hours weekly

Life on the tools

The role will require you to compete tasks including but not limited to:

• Repair & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and service of vehicles & equipment
• Work on all aspects of repairs & maintenance, including engine re-builds & servicing
• Committed to health & safety promoting and fostering a safe work environment

About you

• You will have a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or have at least 3 years proven experience working as a Heavy Vehicle Technician
• You take pride in quality workmanship and doing things right. Our quality standards and Scania values mean everything to us, they will mean everything to you too
• You will thrive on ensuring customer satisfaction through your work and how you support your team - happy customers means happy you
• Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to meet the minimum English standards required
• You will have a current full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence or equivalent
• A forklift & Heavy vehicle driver licence - highly desirable
