Job summary

Scania New Zealand in Rotorua is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technician to diagnose, rebuild, service and repair Scania heavy vehicles. The role requires a NZQF Level 4 qualification or 3+ years' experience, with a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

You will join a supportive team in a busy workshop, with opportunities for training, development and potential career progression across Scania NZ.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and servicing of vehicles and equipment.

About the role
Location: Rotorua, some project-based travel may be required to other workshop or training facilities across New Zealand
Type: Full-time permanent
Pay rate: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour
Minimum guaranteed hours: At least 42.5 hours weekly

Life on the tools
The role will require you to compete tasks including but not limited to

• Repair & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and service of vehicles & equipment
• Work on all aspects of repairs & maintenance, including engine re-builds & servicing
• Committed to health & safety promoting and fostering a safe work environment

About you

• You will have a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or have at least 3 years proven experience working as a Heavy Vehicle Technician
• You take pride in quality workmanship and doing things right. Our quality standards and Scania values mean everything to us, they will mean everything to you, too
• You will thrive on ensuring customer satisfaction through your work and how you support your team - happy customers means happy you
• Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to meet the minimum English standards required
• You will have a current full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence or equivalent
• A forklift & Heavy vehicle driver licence - highly desirable
