Job summary

Scania New Zealand Rotorua is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our friendly team. You will diagnose, repair, and service Scania vehicles, including engine rebuilds, on a daily basis in a supportive workshop.

The role requires a NZQF Level 4 qualification or 3+ years’ HV experience and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You will contribute to a collaborative culture with opportunities for growth, training, and engagement in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 4 qualification or 3+ years proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Strong pride in quality workmanship and adherence to Scania standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain vehicles and equipment; perform mechanical diagnostics and servicing.
• Engine rebuilds and servicing as part of maintenance work.

About The Role

Location: Rotorua, some project-based travel may be required to other workshop or training facilities across New Zealand

Type: Full-time permanent

Pay rate: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour

Minimum guaranteed hours: At least 42.5 hours weekly

The role will require you to compete tasks including but not limited to

• Repair & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and service of vehicles & equipment
• Work on all aspects of repairs & maintenance, including engine re-builds & servicing
• Committed to health & safety promoting and fostering a safe work environment

About You

• You will have a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or have at least 3 years proven experience working as a Heavy Vehicle Technician
• You take pride in quality workmanship and doing things right. Our quality standards and Scania values mean everything to us, they will mean everything to you, too
• You will thrive on ensuring customer satisfaction through your work and how you support your team - happy customers means happy you
• Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to meet the minimum English standards required
• You will have a current full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence or equivalent
• A forklift & Heavy vehicle driver licence - highly desirable
