Job summary

Watercare Services Limited is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator in Auckland to support the rehabilitation of the Puketutu Island facility and biosolids placement. • Around 2–3 years' experience in environments such as construction, quarrying, earthworks or landfill operations.
• A Class 2 licence or higher with WTR endorsements preferred; full Class 1 licence also considered.
• Experience operating heavy machinery on construction sites, quarries, or landfill projects.
• Practical, positive approach and willingness to support the wider team.
• Good level of physical fitness for machine operation and manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large tractor towing three side-tipping trailers and a wheel loader.

He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

We're looking for a Mobile Plant Operator to support the ongoing rehabilitation of the Puketutu Island facility and the placement of biosolids. This is a hands-on role where you'll primarily operate a large tractor towing three side-tipping trailers, as well as a wheel loader. Experience operating other machinery such as excavators, trucks, or similar equipment would be an advantage. As part of a small, close-knit team, you'll also assist with a range of site activities, including daily machine inspections, preventative maintenance, and manual tasks such as building cell walls and maintaining operational areas across the site. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, along with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help where needed.

The standard hours are 6:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, although some weekend work and work outside normal hours (including public holidays) may be required.

You are an experienced operator with around 2-3 years' experience working in environments such as construction, quarrying, earthworks or landfill operations.

You're comfortable operating heavy machinery, enjoy being part of a team and are willing to learn and develop your skills.

• A Class 2 licence or higher, with WTR endorsements preferred.
• Applicants with a full Class 1 licence will also be considered.
• Experience working on construction sites, quarries, landfill projects, or similar environments.
• A practical, positive approach and a willingness to support the wider team.
• A good level of physical fitness, as the role includes both machine operation and manual tasks.
