Job summary

IMG is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Heavy Diesel team in Auckland. You will diagnose faults, repair electrical systems on heavy diesel equipment, and perform preventative maintenance both in our workshop and on customer sites across Auckland.

Proficiency with air conditioning (A/C) systems, advanced diagnostic tools, and a commitment to safety are essential. The role demands timely documentation, strong communication with customers, and the ability to work independently in

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Auto Electrician.
• Experience on heavy equipment and heavy diesel vehicles/machinery.
• Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems (A/C).
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently in workshop and on site.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy diesel machinery.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.
• Complete job documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate with customers regarding repairs and timelines.
• Provide technical support to other team members.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and right‑the‑first‑time workmanship.
