Job summary

Sime Darby Transport (NZ) Ltd in Auckland (Wiri) is seeking an experienced Heavy Automotive Fitter to join our workshop. You will assemble, fit, service and maintain prefabricated components, with 70% fitting and 30% welding across concrete mixer, tail lift and hydraulic equipment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and high-quality repairs while welding axles and fabricating handrails.

Qualifications

• Have solid fitting experience, preferably in heavy automotive equipment.
• Possess a minimum Trade or National Certificate in Welding, Engineering or similar.
• MIG welding experience a must.
• Be able to read design drawings.
• Demonstrate outstanding organisational skills and an ability to plan forward.
• Have attention to detail and value safety first and team culture.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, service and maintain prefabricated components in our workshop.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete repairs to high-quality workmanship standards.
• Weld and modify axles; weld and fabricate handrails and other components.
• Collaborate with a skilled, supportive workshop team.
• Follow health and safety policies and ensure safe outcomes for all.
