Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an organised and proactive Administration Coordinator to join the Cancer and Blood Services team within a large health organisation based in Grafton. This temporary role starts ASAP through to mid/late October, working 28 hours per week over 4 days.

You will support the coordination of tumour stream services, manage patient pathways, and assist with data collection and MDT meetings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in healthcare, hospital, cancer services or complex administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence with databases and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating appointments, referrals, investigations and patient follow-up.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for patients, whānau, clinicians and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting multidisciplinary team meetings, including preparation, documentation and follow-up of actions.
  • Maintaining accurate patient and service information across relevant systems.
  • Monitoring patient pathways and escalating delays or issues where required.
  • Assisting with data collection, reporting, audits and quality improvement activities.
  • Liaising with clinical teams and external providers to support effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Providing general administrative and coordination support to the tumour stream leadership and wider clinical team.

About the role

Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, you will support the smooth coordination of tumour stream services and patient pathways. Your responsibilities will include:

About you

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident working across a range of competing priorities. You will bring:

  • Previous experience in healthcare, hospital, cancer services or a complex administrative environmentis essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using databases, clinical systems and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement when managing sensitive information.
  • A genuine commitment to providing a patient-focused and culturally responsive service.

Experience in oncology/cancer care, tumour streams, multidisciplinary team coordination, health data, reporting or quality improvement would be highly regarded.
