Job summary

People2People is recruiting for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to support a not-for-profit network of care homes across New Zealand. The role focuses on ACC and injury management, incident analysis, risk assessments and building H&S capability across multiple sites.

You will partner with managers, Health & Safety Representatives and leaders to implement practical improvements, deliver timely reporting and stay compliant with NZ legislation.

Qualifications

  • Solid health and safety advisory experience, including risk management and corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and WorkSafe guidance.
  • Understanding of ACC and workplace injury management processes.
  • Experience analysing health and safety data and trends to inform practical improvements.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Multi-site experience is valuable; healthcare or aged-care exposure is an advantage but not essential.

  • Coordinate wellbeing initiatives and support ongoing wellbeing activities.
  • Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and support appropriate policy and system updates.
  • Provide meaningful health, safety and wellbeing reporting and insights to leaders and governance groups.

Join a values-led, not-for-profit organisation supporting older New Zealanders across a network of care homes. This newly created role is an opportunity to strengthen health, safety and wellbeing practices, build capability and help create safer outcomes for employees, residents and contractors.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

Sitting within the People & Culture team, you’ll provide practical health, safety and wellbeing advice and support across a multi-site environment. A key focus will be ACC and injury management, alongside incident and near-miss management, risk management, wellbeing initiatives and reporting. You’ll use data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, working closely with managers and Health & Safety Representatives to turn insights into practical action. As the role develops, you’ll also spend time across care homes, building capability and supporting consistent health and safety practices.
