Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is seeking a Health Care Assistant at Iona, Oamaru, to support residents with personal care, meals and daily activities in an Enliven home. This fixed-term part-time role covers parental leave until 13 November 2027, with shifts totaling 52.5 hours per fortnight and a supportive, team-focused working environment.

Candidates should be empathetic, patient and physically fit; experience in aged care is preferred but full training is provided, with Level 3/4 Health

Make a difference in an older person's daily life working as a Health Care Assistant. Great team! Supported to gain the qualification.

The Role

You'll put your practical skills and compassion into supporting residents with everyday activities such as personal care, assistance at mealtimes, and general care duties that make for happier, healthier living at an Enliven home. You will work hard, but there are few jobs that will give you the immense satisfaction of working for people who are grateful for your help and who contribute to an enriching working environment.

Hours: This is a Fixed Term part-time position covering staff member on parental leave ending 13 November 2027, working 52.5 hours per fortnight

• Week one: 7.5hrs/day, 0700- 15.00hrs on Monday, Thursday & Friday


• Week two: 7.5hrs/day, 0700- 15.00hrs on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, & Sunday

• Experience in an aged care environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
