Job summary

TakeoffQS is seeking a Head of Quantity Surveying in Christchurch to lead the QS team on residential projects, driving accuracy in material schedules and cost estimates. Qualifications

• Significant experience in quantity surveying for residential construction, including detailed measurement, material takeoffs, and cost estimating.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience supervising, coaching, and developing quantity surveying professionals.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural plans, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with construction estimating software, digital plan measurement tools, and Microsoft Office or similar productivity suites.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and external clients in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quantity surveying function for residential projects from end to end.
• Review and validate material schedules and cost estimates.
