Job summary

Inspired Education Group is seeking a Librarian for ACG Parnell in Auckland. The role focuses on developing the library collection, delivering library services, and fostering literacy across the school.

The Librarian will ensure access to diverse resources, provide instruction, and support student learning. This sole-charge position requires strong organisational and interpersonal skills and ends at 5:30pm three days per week as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and maintaining library collections.
• Proficiency in delivering core library services and information literacy instruction.
• Experience fostering an engaging environment for reading and literacy.
• Ability to select and promote diverse literature in various formats.
• Strong organisational and information management skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with academic teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of reading, literacy, and lifelong learning across the school community.
• Develop and manage library collections, resources, equipment, and budgets to support curriculum and student needs.
• Deliver high-quality library services, including circulation, shelving, reference support, and student supervision.
• Teach and support information literacy, research, and referencing skills to enhance student learning.
• Plan and deliver library programs, events, and activities that encourage reading engagement and literature appreciation.
• Curate diverse resources and maintain information systems, stocktakes and reporting.
• Collaborate with staff to support student achievement and a welcoming library environment.
• Ensure the Library is ready for each term and coordinate class bookings.
• Assist with photocopier operations and service requests.
