ACC is seeking a Head of Health Commissioning - Moderate Complexity based in Auckland or Wellington. You will lead a key business unit, translate strategy into commissioning excellence, and drive improvements across secondary care and rehab services while engaging with senior stakeholders across government and health sectors.

You will champion performance, quality, and equitable outcomes, helping keep New Zealanders safe and supported in their recovery journey.

About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, System Commissioning & Performance (SC&P), as Head of Health Commissioning - Moderate Complexity you will lead a business unit within SC&P which is responsible for a range of secondary care and vocational assessment and rehabilitation services. You will bring ACC's strategy to life through commissioning excellence, supplier performance management, health sector engagement, and enterprise leadership. You will lead system-wide improvements, foster high-performing relationships, and drive quality, performance and equitable outcomes that support recovery and help keep Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between. You will work across complex health sector environments, influencing stakeholders and providers while leading a high-performing team focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for New Zealanders.

The appointing salary for this role is $189,346 - $245,036 based on experience.

• Significant enterprise leadership experience within complex service delivery, health, commissioning, or related environments.
• Strong commissioning, supplier performance management, contract management, or commercial leadership capability.
• Strong financial management, operational leadership, business planning, and performance improvement experience.
• Knowledge of secondary care, rehabilitation, and health sector delivery models.
• Proven experience leading strategic partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders across large organisations and sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through change and build high-performing, customer-focused teams.
• Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles within organisational strategy, policy, service design, or delivery.
• Exceptional communication, relationship management, influencing, negotiation, and coaching skills.
• Sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
