Job summary

North Shore United AFC is seeking a Head of Football Operations to lead the next stage of the Club’s development. The role covers junior to senior football and requires building the structure, people and resources to deliver the Strategic Plan.

A major part of the job is growing revenue through grants, sponsorships and partnerships while reducing reliance on volunteers. You will lead the operation, align programmes, and collaborate with schools and the wider community.

Do you know how to run a football club — and can you help generate the money needed to make it better?

North Shore United AFC is looking for a Head of Football Operations (HFO) to lead the next stage of the Club’s development.

We are looking for more than a technical football person and more than a commercial manager. We want someone who understands football, knows how to run and develop a football club, and can build the funding, sponsorship and partnerships needed to help it grow.

Importantly, we’re not handing you a finished structure. We want the successful HFO to come in, understand the Club and our Strategic Plan, and build the structure, people and resources needed to deliver it.

The HFO will have overall responsibility for NSU’s football operation, from junior and youth football through to Girls’, Women’s and Senior football. You’ll set direction and make sure we have the right people, programmes and pathways in place across the Club.

A major part of the role will be growing the Club’s revenue. You’ll lead our approach to grants, sponsorship, partnerships and other funding opportunities, building the financial capacity needed to improve our football offering.

You’ll also help us build a stronger and more sustainable way of operating, reducing our reliance on a small number of volunteers for critical functions while continuing to support the volunteers who are central to community football.

You won’t be expected to do everything yourself. Your job is to lead the operation, build the right structure around you and make sure it delivers.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have strong football knowledge and credibility, leadership ability and an understanding of what makes a successful community football club.

You’ll also need the drive and relationship skills to bring new money and opportunities into the Club.

We’re looking for someone who can combine football leadership, organisational leadership and revenue generation — and who wants the opportunity to shape how the Club operates in the future.
