Job summary

Sport Bay of Plenty is seeking a dedicated Sport Development Advisor to strengthen the Bay of Plenty sport system. Based in Tauranga, Rotorua, or Whakatāne, you will work with sporting organisations and stakeholders to deliver high-quality sport experiences for rangatahi and priority communities.

You will help strengthen coach development, design initiatives, and use evidence and participant voices to guide decisions, ensuring sustainable opportunities across the region.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sport development or related field.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Experience working across multiple organisations and sectors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Understanding of participant-centred approaches and quality sport experiences.

We have an exciting opportunity for aSport Development Advisor to join our team based in Tauranga, Rotorua or Whakatāne.<\/p>

This role is all about strengthening the Bay of Plenty sport system through collaboration, relationship management and innovation. Working alongside sporting organisations, CoachForce partners and other key stakeholders, you'll help create quality sport experiences that improve outcomes for rangatahi and priority communities.<\/p>

Your duties will include
  • Building strong relationships with sporting organisations and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting CoachForce partners and sporting organisations to deliver initiatives aligned to investment outcomes.
  • Strengthening coach development systems and organisational capability.
  • Supporting competition and season design initiatives that improve participant experiences.
  • Using insights, evidence and participant voice to inform decision-making.
  • Facilitating collaboration that creates sustainable sport opportunities for rangatahi and priority communities.
As the successful candidate you will have the following
  • At least 5 years' experience in sport development, community development, relationship management or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple organisations and sectors.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • An understanding of participant-centred approaches and quality sport experiences.
