Job summary

Maritime NZ is seeking a Manager Engagement to lead the engagement strategy function and strengthen New Zealand’s maritime partnerships across the Pacific and international sectors. You will oversee the Pacific Maritime Safety Programme (PMSP) and drive coordinated stakeholder engagement aligned with safety and regulatory objectives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading engagement strategy in complex public sector, regulatory or international development environments.
• Proven success building and leading high-performing teams.
• Significant experience cultivating trusted relationships with Pacific governments, partners and international stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Pacific operating environment and regional partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maritime NZ's engagement strategy function across New Zealand, the Pacific and international sectors.
• Provide strategic oversight of the Pacific Maritime Safety Programme (PMSP).
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities to support regulatory, safety and harm prevention goals.
• Manage and develop a team of engagement professionals and ensure outcomes align with organisational priorities.
