Job summary

Archway Recruitment is seeking an Operations Manager to take day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of civil construction projects across three waters and infrastructure works in Wellington, New Zealand.

You will lead Engineers, Foremen and field crews, coordinate resources, manage workloads, promote safe working practices and drive profitable performance while partnering with the business owner and management team.

Qualifications

• Strong practical civil construction experience.
• Experience leading Foremen, Engineers and field teams.
• Ability to plan ahead while addressing day-to-day challenges.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements in civil contracting.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing multiple three waters and civil infrastructure projects concurrently.
• Coordinating engineers, foremen, crews, plant, equipment and materials across projects.
• Maintaining visibility across current and upcoming workloads.
• Identifying resource constraints and delivery risks before they affect programmes.
• Supporting operational teams when projects encounter delivery challenges.
• Promoting safe working practices and proactive risk management.
• Monitoring labour, plant, material usage, productivity and project performance.
• Strengthening accountability and communication between project and field teams.
