Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Head Groundsperson to lead our onsite grounds maintenance team for high-profile sports and recreational assets in New Zealand. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising daily operations, driving work programmes, and upholding safety and quality across facilities.

You will work closely with the Commercial Account Manager and Operations team to develop staff, enhance performance, and strengthen client relationships while ensuring the highest standards of grounds

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Proven leadership and team management capability.
• Strong knowledge of sports turf, grounds maintenance, and horticultural practices.
• Excellent planning, communication, and reporting skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily grounds operations and maintenance programmes.
• Manage work programmes and schedules on site.
• Champion health and safety and drive safe work practices.
