Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking an experienced Class 2 or 4 Driver to join our Technical Services team. You will operate vehicles and equipment, collect and transport liquid and hazardous waste, and service customers on the road.

Flexibility for out-of-town trips and a safety-first approach are essential. This is a permanent, full-time role with modern trucks and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A current Class 2 or 4 New Zealand driver licence.
• Experience driving heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of transporting dangerous goods.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Good mechanical awareness and the confidence to operate specialised equipment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team.
• A reliable, practical and customer-focused approach.
• Previous experience in the waste, industrial services or liquid-hazardous sector would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operating vehicles and specialist equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collecting, loading, transporting and unloading liquid and hazardous waste.
• Completing scheduled customer services to a high standard.
• Carrying out daily vehicle, equipment and safety checks.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and service records.
• Keeping your vehicle and equipment clean, safe and well presented.
• Following Dangerous Goods, fatigue management and company procedures.
• Delivering friendly, professional service to our customers.
• Supporting the wider team with waste processing and operational duties when required.
