Job summary

New Zealand King Salmon Co Ltd is seeking a Hatchery Manager for the Tentburn Hatchery, located approximately 45 minutes from Christchurch. You will oversee daily site activities, lead a team, and drive continuous improvement to deliver premium smolt to seawater sites while prioritising fish health and welfare.

The role requires aligning freshwater and seawater production strategies, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering development within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or Natural Sciences required.
• Minimum 10 years of salmon farming experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Tentburn Hatchery site activities and smolt production.
• Lead the team and drive continuous improvement across operations.
• Ensure fish health, safety, and welfare aligned with best aquaculture practices.
• Collaborate with Freshwater and Seawater teams to align production strategies.
