Job summary

Programmed Facility Management is seeking a hands-on Facilities Caretaker for Ormiston Junior College in Flat Bush, Auckland, NZ. This is a permanent, full-time role with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts starting between 6am and 6pm.

You will help keep facilities safe, well maintained and looking their best for students and staff. Ideal candidates have maintenance experience and a trade background, with strong health & safety awareness and good contractor communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, repairs or facilities upkeep.
• A trade background such as plumbing or building is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with contractors.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and handyman tasks.
• Complete maintenance requests and routine site inspections.
• Maintain the general upkeep of school facilities and grounds.
• Liaise with and coordinate specialist contractors when required.
• Identify maintenance issues and help ensure they're resolved promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and minimise disruption to the school day.
