Job summary

Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside is seeking a practical, reliable Duty Technician to join our Engineering and Maintenance team. You will support day-to-day maintenance of the hotels, guest rooms and facilities, helping keep both busy hotels operating at their best.

We value hands-on problem solvers who can work independently or as part of a team, with good attention to safety and guest experience. Prior hotel maintenance or trades experience is a plus, and flexibility for a 7-day operation is

Qualifications

• Practical, reliable and hands-on approach to maintenance.
• Ability to use basic tools and carry out painting, carpentry, plumbing tasks.
• Willingness to work across a 7-day operation including weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or trades is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotels.
• Paint and touch-up work in guest rooms and public areas.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing and general handyman tasks.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes.
• Respond to maintenance requests from hotel departments.
• Help maintain resort grounds, facilities and equipment.
• Support room maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Keep work areas clean, safe and organised.
• Provide friendly and professional service to guests.
• Assist with other Engineering duties as required.
