Job summary

Silver Fern Rotorua is seeking a friendly, professional Part-Time Receptionist to join our hotel team in Rotorua. This hands-on role focuses on warm, efficient guest service and helping ensure guests have a memorable stay, approximately 20 hours per week with flexible rosters including weekends and public holidays.

You will manage bookings, check guests in and out, allocate rooms, answer questions, process payments and assist with housekeeping when needed.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel reception experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable working independently, taking initiative and making sound decisions.
• Flexible roster including weekends, public holidays and varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookings and cancellations by phone, email and face-to-face.
• Check guests in and out, allocate rooms, issue keys and provide amenities.
• Answer guest questions and provide local information on facilities and attractions.
• Process guest bills and handle cash, credit and debit card payments.
• Support housekeeping and laundry operations when required.
• Maintain office supplies and arrange orders.
• Assist with other hotel duties to ensure smooth operation.
