Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Assistant Store Manager for our Queenstown store. You will support the Store Manager with daily operations, supervise staff, and drive sales targets while ensuring outstanding customer service and brand standards.

You will oversee stock, inventory, merchandising, and loss prevention, provide product knowledge coaching to the team, and help manage opening/closing duties and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Retail experience with supervisory or key holder role (1–2 years).
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of retail sales, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
• Proficient in POS systems and basic computer applications.
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
• High school diploma; further business/retail studies a plus.
• Able to stand long periods and handle stock tasks in the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations.
• Supervise, train, and motivate retail staff to meet goals.
• Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service at all times.
• Manage inventory control, stock receiving, replenishment, and loss prevention.
• Oversee visual merchandising and store presentation to brand standards.
• Assist in achieving sales targets and driving profitability.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
• Ensure compliance with policies and health and safety regulations.
• Participate in opening and closing the store as required.
• Provide guidance to the sales team on product knowledge and selling techniques.
