Job summary

Computer Dynamics, located in Albany on the North Shore of Auckland, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Team with accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role offers growth within a dynamic, international group and exposure to cross-functional financial activities.

You will contribute to accurate data processing, maintain internal controls, and assist with reporting standards while developing broader financial skills for future progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate level in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Experience with accounting software (Pronto is a plus).
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Business or accounting qualification (or currently studying) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions including invoice entry and remittance processing.
• Manage credit card receipt processing.
• Prepare international payments and maintain currency exchange rates.
• Prepare and calculate monthly and quarterly rebate payments.
• Process employee expense claims.
• Process high-volume customer credit returns.
• Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Provide backup support for GST and FBT return preparation.
• Support the Credit Controller with receivables as required.
• Maintain documentation and filing systems; ensure data accuracy.
• Answer phones and undertake general administrative duties.
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
